UNODC Global Forum for Human Trafficking Survivors Report

Posted By Chris April 3, 2026

The Voices of Resilience: Global Forum for Human Trafficking Survivors, convened by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna on 24 – 25 June 2025, marked a significant milestone in advancing victim-centred and trauma-informed approaches to combating trafficking in persons. For the first time, survivors from all regions sat alongside governments, civil society, and international organizations to co-create solutions that place protection, dignity, and agency at the heart of anti-trafficking responses. The Forum explored and showcased approaches that recognize the impact of trauma on survivors’ lives and interactions with institutions, and that seek to avoid retraumatization by prioritizing safety, choice and respect.

The report goes beyond documenting the event itself. It brings together contributions submitted before and after the Forum and offers reflections and guidance on meaningful survivor engagement. It also captures key learnings from the Forum, both what worked well and where there is room to grow, and includes findings from the regional survivor-only needs assessment workshops. The report was developed in partnership with Collective Threads Initiative through a grant agreement with Azadi Community.
